#GetInvolved2016 – Mayor of London Elections

From 8th May 2015 to 5th May 2016 Patchwork organised #GetInvolved2016 training and campaign sessions for over a thousand young leaders with Members of Parliament, including members of the Cabinet and Shadow Cabinet for the selection of the party candidates and the Mayor of London campaign.

Conservative #GetInvolved2016 included Mini Classes with Zac Goldsmith MP, Gavin Barwell MP (Government Whip), Rt Hon Chris Grayling MP (Leader of House of Commons), Rt Hon Iain Duncan Smith MP (DWP Secretary of State), Rt Hon Justine Greening MP (International Development Secretary of State), Jacob Rees-Mogg MP, Penny Mordaunt MP (Defense Minister), Rt Hon Micheal Fallon MP (Defense Secretary of State) and including phone banking for Zac Goldsmith at CCHQ and action day campaigning.

Labour #GetInvolved2016 included Mini Classes with Sadiq Khan MP, Kate Green MP (Shadow Equalities Minister), Jess Philips MP, Chuka Umunna MP, Dan Jarvis MP, Rt Hon Ed Miliband MP, Rt Hon Andy Burnham MP (Shadow Home Secretary) and Rt Hon Hilary Benn MP (Shadow Foreign Secretary) and including phone banking for Sadiq Khan at Labour London HQ and action day campaigning.

Liberal Democrats #GetInvolved2016 included Mini Classes with Caroline Pidgeon, Tim Farron MP (Leader of the Party), Rt Hon Nick Clegg MP, Norman Lamb MP, Baroness Lynne Featherstone and Baroness Sal Briton (President of the Party) and including phone banking for Caroline Pidgeon at LibDemHQ and action day campaigning.

Green #GetInvolved2016 included campaigning with Sian Berry, Caroline Lucas MP and Natalie Bennet (Leader of the Party).

On Polling Day: Thursday 5th May 2015, over 100 young Patchworkers were active across London to get the vote out.

Participants received:

  • a chance to meet and get to know leading members of the cabinet and shadow cabinet
  • preference for Patchwork special events and private party dinners
  • special prizes included tea with our patrons
  • invitation to attend our special results event at a corporate venue next to City Hall
  • attending the counts and special result announcements at City Hall
  • attending the party official thank you parties
  • attending the special signing in ceremony at Southwark Catherdral to meet the new Mayor of London

#GetInvolved2015

From 1st Jan 2014 to 7 May 2015 Patchwork  organised #GetInvolved2015 sessions for over a thousand young leaders to attend training with leading Members of Parliament, including members of the Cabinet (including the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister) and Shadow Cabinet (including the Leader of the Opposition) about election campaigning and how to get involved in their own personal campaigns.  On Polling Day: Thursday 7 May 2015, over 200 young Patchworkers were active across the country to get the vote out.

Participants received:

  • #GetInvolved2015 graduation certificates signed by a prominent MP- training by experienced campaigners
  • a chance to meet and get to know leading members of the cabinet and shadow cabinet
  • preference for Patchwork special events and private dinners
  • special master class for graduates of #GetInvolved2015
